Gallery Baton

Since its founding in 2011, Gallery Baton has gained international recognition as a leading contemporary art gallery in Korea. Distinguishing itself with a dynamic and refined program,  Baton consistently strives for an in-depth understanding of current paradigms within the complex and ever-changing landscape of contemporary art.

With a keen awareness of how present-day discourses inform dominant narratives and tendencies of contemporaneity, Baton adopts a balanced and considerate curatorial praxis, featuring both emerging and established international artists. Baton’s mission is to create a sustainable ecosystem where both artists and the gallery can evolve and thrive together. Baton co-founded ‘Chapter II’, a non-profit art space and artist residency space. Through this program, we discover and support Korea’s emerging talents, providing opportunities to engage with the public and to foster growth of both artists and the artistic environment they shape.
