We are not surprised

Published in 2017, We are not surprised is a public statement from individuals in the art world, including artists, curators, educators, and other cultural professionals, who have experienced and witnessed sexual harassment and abuse of power. Following the public revelation of sexual misconduct by art world figures such as Knight Landesman, the letter collectively addresses widespread issues of sexual harassment, retaliation, and the systemic disregard for equitable treatment. The letter calls on art institutions, boards, and individuals to take responsibility for their roles in perpetuating these abuses, advocating for a culture of accountability, solidarity, and change.
